Trip duration & operating schedule

1. The standard duration of one guided trip is 6 hours.
2. Departure times may be adjusted within the permitted hours to suit your wishes and the weather. A later departure does not extend the final return times below.
3. The latest return times for each trip are:
Morning trip: return to the pier by 12:00 in all circumstances
Afternoon trip: return to the pier by the end of the day's permitted fishing hours set by the Lake Chuzenji Fisheries Cooperative
4. No time extension is offered for a delayed start caused by guests or an early return for weather or safety reasons. Depending on the circumstances of each case, either no refund is provided after departure or the fee is adjusted based on elapsed time. See “Trips cut short” for details.

Trips cut short

A trip may be cut short after it begins due to changing weather or other conditions. Depending on the circumstances of each case, either no refund is provided after departure or the fee is adjusted based on elapsed time. When a time-based adjustment applies and at least 3 hours have elapsed, the trip is treated as completed and charged at the 3-hour trip rate.

Conditions & fishing results

The lake is constantly changing. Wind, rain, lightning and other natural factors may affect your results. Your guide will do their best in the conditions, but we cannot promise the catch you are hoping for.

Participation, photography & fishing locations

We may decline participation by other fishing professionals, those planning to start a similar business, or rental-boat anglers. Please consult us in advance. Publishing fishing locations, posting photos that reveal a location, and using track-recording apps are strictly prohibited. If this occurs, we will require immediate deletion of the data and decline future bookings. Obtain the guide's permission before filming or streaming video.

Fishing rules

1. We generally follow the rules of each fisheries cooperative. On group trips, we may require barbless hooks to protect other guests and fish stocks. We may also ask guests to rotate positions so everyone can enjoy the trip.
2. Waders and spiked shoes are strictly prohibited on board for safety and to protect the boat.
3. You must wear a life jacket bearing the Sakura approval mark required by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. If you do not, we will return immediately for safety reasons. No discount or refund will be provided in this case.
